  • first off, for nam... feedage du liquid.
(you can replace my username with anyone else's to get a feed from their site)

for anyone else, feel free to watch me. heh.

    thanks
for all the comments everyone... it's nice to get the old gang back
together once in a while. like namaste, i'm a big fan of the
RSS/Atom/RDF/Other feeds. it's a lot easier for me to keep tabs on stuff
like people's sites, news (like wired and /.), and even thinkgeek's new items (yes, it's real).
firefox makes this SUPER easy with either an extension (like sage), or Live
    Bookmarks.

what? you don't HAVE firefox?!? go get it now! if you want info on extensions (like what to get), ask and we'll all share.

    Get Firefox!

  • there's so much going on right now, i don't even have time to
    format this.

    yes, i mean that.

    how
many of you come back more than once to check and see if i've written?
more than once a week? more than a few times a week? is it part of your
daily routine, or do you get an email? just curious, since i'm trying
to figure out what i'm doing 'round here.

    xanga has
been very good to me, and i like meeting people... so thank you for
that. i'll still be around, but like many of the other xangancients,
i'm not going to be around quite as much. feel free to leave comments,
and i'll still be here, but not like the ol' days of
"ohmygodihavetopost! it's been like four hours, did anyone eprop me
yet?" (you know you've done that).

    ...and for those
who are xangancients, what was the name of the person who got a lot of
    us here? heh.

  • sometimes if you just write and don't think of what you're writing, the
oddest things come out especially if you don't use any punctuation and
make the longest run-on sentence you can in let's say two minutes then
you stop and re-read what you wrote and you can be amazed at what you
see like what happened when i took freshman english for the second time
and our teacher said that writing is like a faucet and sometimes you
need to let the water run before the good stuff comes out especially if
you haven't used it in a while or if you don't use it very often so
that's what i'm trying to do right now and that's why brainstorming
works so well (at least that's what i think) and why ideas come to
certain people and not to others thanks for listenening and i suggest
you try this since one of the ideas that i've toyed around with is
freedom within boundaries meaning that sometimes you can be more
creative within a set boundary than you can be if you have total
freedom (in the creative realm, not meaning prison or anything) so talk
to me and tell me what you think thanks.

  • whoa, has it really been that long?

obviously. i just looked at the calendar.

i've been busy with work. i've been busy with stuff outside of work. i've been busy with things i won't talk about here (but that some of you may know about). let's just say that some of the things in life that were bothering me... aren't so much any more. yes, i'll leave that to interpretation, and no, the things that were bothering me weren't any people.

that's all i can share for now. busy, busy, busy... and i've got a three day weekend coming. woo-hoo!

  • it's frickin' freezing, but almost warmish today.

by warmish, i mean in the 20s.

    so
we went from 60s one friday to single-digits the next. we were pummeled
by snow last weekend, and got about 22" where i was (i know places that
got a lot more). oh, and guess what? we're supposed to get even more
tomorrow - about 4-8" more. whee. i'm ready for winter to be over, and
get moving along into spring. i'm needing to see some green again...

    here's
to hoping you're enjoying nicer weather where you are... it's been in
the single digits for about a week or so now, and i'm acclimating to
it. of course, i *am* an HPFoN (heat-producing freak of nature), so
it's not all that bad. heh.

  • it's hot hot hot...

    i mean outdoors, mostly.

so i'm in massachusetts at work right now, and left new hampshire this morning. it's about 60 degrees outside. that's ridiculously warm for this time of year. even 50 would be overly warm... and me being a HPFoN* doesn't help at all, especially when i'm not acclimated.

so how's the weather where you are...? i hope those of you out on the west coast are ok, and i'm pretty sure death n' sean's place is ok for right now... heh. have a good weekend, and enjoy what you've got.

    *Heat-Producing Freak of Nature

  • happy new year 2005!

like you have seen that yet.

it's now officially 2005 and has been for a good hour and a half (eastern time), and it feels... like a night. nothing spectacular, but it was good to see some people i haven't seen in a while, and some that i see all the time. hope you have a great year, and if you'd like to share what you're looking forward to (or a resolution maybe?), please feel free...

  • i'm a lazy bastard sometimes.

...and by sometimes i mean more than sometimes.

    ok,
i will be posting the cube stuff up soon, and i want as many people to
play as possible. you can write about it (of course), but feel free to
make a drawing, painting, sculpture, string art, knotwork, beadwork,
sketch, doodle, or other form of artwork based on it. yes, that means
fingerpaints too. just share them with me, and i'll try to get them up
into a place where we can all see it and enjoy it. if you have a DA account, you can put it there and i'll fave you.

    get
those creative juices flowing, because at the beginning of the new
year... it's marathon time. 26.2 glorious minutes of writing. w00t.

  • TDL right there folks.

    yeah, that's too damn long.

ok, so maybe i was a
little off with my timeframe, but it's slowly moving forward. i have some ideas on how to make not one, but BOTH things happen! i still need help though... a rallying of the troops would be nice, but i need something to rally them *to* - something i don't have yet. whee.

sorry if i'm rambling, but that's what you're here for, isn't it?

  • two projects, one man.

    yes, that would be me.

...and yes, there are a lot more projects than that, but these are two i want some help with (please). first, go to my DA account and read up on what i want to do, then check out the account for the contest (if you want to call it that).

    project
#2: i want to get some writing done for a site i'm working on, and i'm
looking for help with them - there's actually two parts: one is my a
word of advice pieces, and the other is the marathon writing. i'm
trying to organize the AWOA pieces, then i'll be looking for other
people who are interested in writing their own.

    for the marathon,
i want to keep people honest. it would be 26.2 minutes of writing
(26:12) with no stops. if you have to write "blahblahblah" for 10
seconds, do it. there should just be 26.2 minutes of writing when
you're done. how can i set that up without making it too invasive?
setting a timer is relatively easy, so is setting up a text box and
having it email or post to a database... but how do we keep people from
pausing for a long time? well, it's not a contest (yet) so i guess it's
    the honor system for now.

i'd really like to have some participation here, so please leave a comment and let me know what you think. thanks.
